Monday, October 21, 1991 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home, Steinbach, Mrs. Katherina Kehler, aged 91 years, of Steinbach.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 24, 2pm from the Chortitzer Mennonite Church in Steinbach with Rev. Bill Hildebrandt and Rev. Stan Kehler officiating. Interment will follow in the Steinbach Memorial Cemetery. Friends may pay their last respects at Loewen Funeral Chapel Wednesday from 7-8 pm, and at the church prior to the service. A devotional will be held Wednesday at 8pm at Loewen Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Kehler leaves to cherish her memory six daughters: Helen & Leonard Unger, Nettie and Rev. C.G. Peters, Eva & Jake Schellenberg, all of Steinbach, Annie & Rev. Jake F Doerksen of Tourond, Tina & Bill Bergen, Frieda & Ed Neufeld, all of Steinbach; four sons, Andy, Henry & Mathilda, Peter B. & Helen, Bill & Tina, all of Steinbach; one son-in-law Aaron & Sarah Isaac of Grunthal; 44 grandchildren and 40 great- grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kehler was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Peter S. Kehler in 1968; one daughter Mary Isaac; one son Jacob in infancy; two grandchildren, Russell James Neufeld in 1959, Larry Schellenberg in 1956; three great-grandchildren, Becky Peters in 1985, Amy Klassen in 1987 and Thomas Koop in 1985.
Pallbearers for the service will be Rick Kehler, Fred Doerksen, Tom Peters, Les Bergen, Larry Kehler and Randy Neufeld.
