Many Canadians and Americans visit Puerto Vallarta, especially during the winter months. Larry Kehler has been working with the children of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico since 2002. He started with the Refugio Infentile Orphanage, raising money  for food and daily essentials.  These fund raising efforts helped the Orphanage to build a new and better place for the homeless children to live and call home.  Weekly shopping trips to Sam’s Club ensured they were well fed during the winter months. Summer months were more difficult, but they managed to keep them stocked during those months as well.  With the help of many tourists, and friends, the institution has been able to sustain itself. Thanks to Christmas

by Kaylee Peters

What if we didn’t have Christmas what if,
We couldn’t spend Christmas with our family,
Or we couldn’t wish our friends a Merry Christmas.
Or we couldn’t make memories on this special day,
Or we couldn’t do the things we do on Christmas,
Thanks to God we don’t have to worry about that,
He gave us Jesus and Jesus’ birthday,
He gave us family time,
He gave us memories,
He gave us Merry Christmas,
He gave us that day, that moment,
That we spend doing the stuff we love with people we love,
So Christmas isn’t about presents,
Or toys or decoration or who gets what,
It’s about Jesus,
And what he has given us,
So Thank-You

Kaylee Peters, 13, is the daughter of Karin (Kehler) & Menno Peters, and the granddaughter of Benjamin & Martha Kehler, Steinbach, MB.

TROY, NY — As he sat at his locker stall Tuesday at RPI’s Houston Field House, Myles Stoesz sported a badge of his role for the Albany Devils. The area around Stoesz’s left eye was discolored, and just above the cheekbone he sported a gash.

“This was from the (helmet) visor,” he said, pointing to the gash received in a fight with Toronto’s Kyle Neuber, “and this (left eye) is the one punch that hit me.”

Kehler Construction

After World War II,  upon his return from serving with the Royal Canadian Artillery,  Peter H. Kehler and his brother John formed Kehler Construction. During their 40 years together they constructed a variety of buildings, many of which can still be seen throughout southern Manitoba. In 1952, together with their father Aron S. Kehler, a house was constructed for their uncle, the Rev. Peter J. B. Reimer in Rosenort, Manitoba. Continue reading “Kehler Construction”
