On August 22, 2022, Harold Grunwald passed away peacefully in Winnipeg at the age of 85. During a work career spanning over 50 years, he mastered with ease many jobs ranging from upholstery to assembling heavy electrical transformers. He retired from Pauwels (Formerly Federal Pioneer Electric) in 2002.
Harold was happiest amongst his tools in his well-equipped workshop where he produced ingenious solutions and beautifully crafted objects that were shared generously with appreciative family and friends. If Harold was not out in the sunshine attending to his vegetable garden, then he was in his workshop surrounded by various humming machinery, happily creating. His talented fingers always had to be doing, making, or fixing.
Harold was much loved by family and friends for his gentle nature and will be dearly missed. A private cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers please consider contributing to the charity of your choice or to planting a tree in Winnipeg at www.treeswinnipeg.org.
Our family is thankful for the kind and compassionate care given to Harold while he was a resident in the Tuxedo Villa personal care home for the six months preceding his death. Special thanks to all the staff on nursing station 2 including nurses Shelly, Judy, and Debbie who provided Harold with such compassionate care.
Harold was predeceased by his parents, Joseph (1977) and Helene Grunwald (1994) and brother Henry Grunwald (1986).
Rest in peace, thanks for the wonderful memories growing with at your mother’s home
