Cornelius G. Peters (1928-2008)

Cornelius G. Peters was born August 12, 1928, to Peter T. & Katharina Peters of Randolph. He lost both parents at a young age; but Dad was always grateful for the loving second mother he had, Susana, as well as a bachelor great-uncle Jacob Peters, who was a father figure in his life. At the young age of 15, he began a career that lasted for several decades, in cheese making and management at the Hanover & Bothwell cheese factories.

Bennington Department Fights 2 Fires At Same Home
BENNINGTON, Neb. — Bill Janzen Jr. said his family returned to their burned-out Bennington home on Wednesday to see what was left. Firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze Tuesday night after they had been at the same home earlier in the day. The first time, crews extinguished a fire around the fireplace, then left when they thought it was under control.
The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the second fire, which left the house a complete loss.

Stoesz, Recipient of Lifesaving Society Award
A group of Manitobans including a Carman pizza business owner were honoured for their valiant attempts to save others from drowning.

A group of Manitobans including a Carman pizza business owner were honoured for their valiant attempts to save others from drowning.
At an event Tuesday night in Winnipeg at Government House, the Lifesaving Society – Manitoba branch will give the Rescue Commendation Award to four individuals.
“It’s tremendous that they’ve put themselves in some form of danger to try to save someone,” said Carl Shier, CEO of the Lifesaving Society.

Andrew Blatz Kehler (1924-2007)

Suddenly on November 16, 2007, at his home in Steinbach, Andrew Kehler passed away at the age of 83. Andrew worked for Versatile Farm Industries for 15 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory three brothers and six sisters: Henry and Mathilda, Helen and Leonard Unger, Nettie and Rev Cornie Peters, Peter and Helen, Bill and Tina, Eva and Jake Schellenberg, Anne and Rev. Jac Doerksen, Tina and Bill Bergen, Frieda and Ed Neufeld, sister-in-law, Sara Isaac, as well as 44 nieces and nephews and their families.
Norman Kenneth Kehler (1959-2007)

Norman Kenneth Kehler, youngest son of the late David Stoesz Kehler and the late Katharina Wiebe Kehler and beloved husband of 19 years of Elizabeth Dawes, was set free on October 26, 2007, after years of living with cancer. Born in Selkirk, Manitoba, on May 15, 1959, Norman lived in Grand Rapids and Steinbach before moving to Winnipeg where he learned to play hockey and football on the street with his brothers.
