MARJORIE ANNE HEINRICHS was born in Morris, Man., on March 2, 1956, the second of six children born to Helen and Sydney Reimer, a financial adviser. Marj, a redhead with a fiery personality and a yen for storytelling, grew up in the prosperous, conservative Mennonite community of Rosenort. She was an opinionated and curious tomboy—not your average Mennonite girl. TV and radio, the church believed, were a sin. Hard work brought you closer to God.
At 14, she met Jim Heinrichs, “the cutest boy in school,” as she described him. Gentle Jim, shy and soft-spoken, was her polar opposite. They married in 1974, after graduating from Rosenort Collegiate, and moved onto a hog farm west of town. Continue reading “The End – Marjorie Anne Heinrichs”

Writer Marj Heinrichs killed in crash near Morris
Marj Heinrichs, an accomplished writer and photographer from Rosenort, was killed in the collision near Morris, on Tuesday afternoon.

Marj Heinrichs, a mother of five and an accomplished writer and photographer from Rosenort, was killed in the collision near Morris, on Tuesday afternoon.
Heinrichs had a passion for aboriginal culture and she was on her way to a traditional sweat ceremony in Roseau River when the collision occurred. She was driving a Chevy Impala, crossing the intersection of Highway 23 and Highway 200 when her car was broadsided by a Chevy Avalanche.

Marjorie Anne Reimer Heinrichs (1956-2010)
It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely death of Marjorie Anne Heinrichs of Rosenort, Manitoba. Marj passed away tragically November 9, 2010 at the age of 54.
Born March 2, 1956 in Morris, Manitoba to Sydney and Helen Reimer, Marj was the second eldest of six siblings, Daryl, Dan (Leslie), Kim (Cal), Peter and James (Christine).

William Gerald Miller Aitken (1932-2010)
On Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at home surrounded by his loving family, Bill passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Marlene (Kehler), his children Barbara Bezeau (Guy), Cheryl Posten (Denis) and Neil Aitken (Barbara), his nine adored grandchildren, his precious great-grandson and namesake, and his sister Roslyn Lecuyer. Mark Stafford Reimer born on April 25, 1953 passed away on August 25, 2010 in Calgary, AB.
Left to mourn his passing are his two children, Jamie and Megan, both of Calgary, AB, his parents, (Al) Elmer & Joan Reimer (Winnipeg, MB) and his siblings Cynthia Melanie Eeson, (Calgary, AB) and Curt Reimer (Winnipeg, MB).

After a period of failing health, our dear husband, father and grandfather, Isaac Giesbrecht passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg.
