New Facility Stops Shuffling, Brings Comfort to Cows, People.

This is the first winter the Laing family of Laingspring Farm, Steinbach, Manitoba, has been able to enjoy not getting up for morning milking at 5 a.m. Brothers Tyrone and Ted run a dairy operation in partnership with their parents, Ray and Bertha, on a farm established in 1872.

The brothers are the fifth generation of their family to farm here, with dairy being the primary business for four of those generations. An older brother, Blake, is a journeyman gas fitter. He occasionally helps on the farm but is not actively involved in the business.

Bertha (Dueck) Laing, a 3rd generation Berliner Kehler, is the daughter of (the late Lizzie(Kehler) & the late Diedrich Dueck).

Dennis Leroy Kehler (1931-2013)

It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of Dennis Leroy Kehler, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on February 14, 2013, at the age of 81, with his wife Yvonne and family members at his side. Dennis was born in Carnduff, Saskatchewan on September 22, 1931 to Cornelius and Frieda Kehler. He grew up in Steinbach, Manitoba where he learned to always work hard for the things you want and that being true to your values are the most important traits that a person should possess. In Memoriam Louise Olson

Today we remember and honour one of the finest souls ever born, a beautiful diamond with a golden heart and soul strong like steel: Louise Olson.

On February 19^th one year ago Heaven gained a faithful follower of Jesus Christ into the eternal kingdom of peace. The funeral was bitter and sweet. Bitter for two reasons: a great woman laid cold in her coffin and also the fact that it was February, which means we were cold as well. In Memory of Edgar Stoesz Kehler

Today, February 17th, marks 6 years since the passing of our amazing brother, Edgar Kehler. Seldom has a day passed without thinking about the many memories that were created as we grew up together.

Edgar was a special brother who touched the lives of many people. As brothers, we were very close in a relationship that kept us together for life as best friends. He was full of life, seeing the best of everyone he met. Those who knew him best admired him for the interest he took in each person. In meeting new people, one of the first things he’d do is the “Mennonite Connection” to see if there was a possibility of being a long lost relative. It seemed important to him. Louise Vera Gladys Olson (1928-2011)

Louise Olson died peacefully on February 19, 2011, at the age of 82, at the St. Adolphe Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her first husband, Martin Giesbrecht as well as her second husband, Clarence Olson. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Beverly (Theo), Bonnie (Russ); her son, Nelson; grandchildren: Elena (Jason); Emmanuel (Sarka); Miltos (Neviyah); Peter; Teddy; Matthew (Mel); Joshua; Abe (Danielle); great-grandchildren: Aria; Petra; and Zamar. Renette K. Schoenewe House (1956-2010)

Renette K. Schoenewe of Dallas, Texas, and formerly of Everly, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas after a long illness.

Edgar Stoesz Kehler (1935-2006)

Peacefully, after a long illness, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Edgar Kehler passed away on February 17, 2006 at Bethesda Hospital.He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Helen; children, Terry (Jacqueline), Tim and Chris (Charis); and grandchildren, Cassandra, Julian, Hunter and Ty. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary (Ike) Giesbrecht of Winnipeg, Betty (Gus) Dueck of Mitchell and Helen Hildebrandt of Steinbach; his brothers, Stan (Mary) of Mitchell, Ben (Martha) of Steinbach, Pete (Eva) of Steinbach, and Ernie of Calgary as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Helene Beischer Kehler (1921-2002)

On February 28, 2002, Helene Beischer Kehler left us to be with her Lord and Saviour and her beloved husband Henry, who predeceased her in 1980. Our mother was born and raised on a small farm in the Russell, MB, area. While working at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, she met and married the man she was devoted to for 33 years. Northern Manitoba was home for mom and dad as they raised their children on Manitoba Hydro projects and later settled in Steinbach in their retirement years. John Hiebert Kehler (1917-2000)

Peacefully, surrounded by his family our beloved husband, father and grandfather gently passed away into the arms of the Lord. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Annie Kehler; his children, Marlene (Reg) Reimer, Roy (Pamela) Kehler, Diane (Roy) Penner, Bob (Jo-Anne) Kehler and grandchildren, Gina and Mark (Sharon) Reimer, Jacqueline and Jordan Kehler, Todd and Carlee Penner and Lonnie Kehler. John is survived by his sisters, Kelly Larson and Mary Daniel and his brothers, George, Ben (Lila), Dave (Irene) and Ernie (Eva).
