It is with deepest sorrow that our family announces the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Jacob (Stoesz) Kehler, age 75 years of Steinbach, Manitoba. Jake is survived by his wife Helen of 52 years; one daughter Carol Penner (Jim)  and two sons Murray (Joanne) and Wayne (Sandi) and their families.

Dad was born June 14, 1924. Growing up on a farm, he learned many skills. He ventured out into the business world after working for C.T. Loewen’s and the McArthur Dam in Great Falls. He started and owned Jake’s Husky for 35 years. Continue reading “Jacob Stoesz Kehler (1924-2000)”

Peacefully, surrounded by his family our beloved husband, father and grandfather gently passed away into the arms of the Lord. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Annie Kehler; his children, Marlene (Reg) Reimer, Roy (Pamela) Kehler, Diane (Roy) Penner, Bob (Jo-Anne) Kehler and grandchildren, Gina and Mark (Sharon) Reimer, Jacqueline and Jordan Kehler, Todd and Carlee Penner and Lonnie Kehler. John is survived by his sisters, Kelly Larson and Mary Daniel and his brothers, George, Ben (Lila), Dave (Irene) and Ernie (Eva). Suddenly on Monday, March 15, 1999, while vacationing in Florida with his wife and friends, Rev. Bill Hildebrandt, aged 62 years, of Steinbach, passed away in Stuart, Florida.

Besides his loving wife Helen, his memory will be cherished by son Mark, and daughters Denise and Karla, and their respective spouses, as well as two granddaughters Carey and Ashley.

Randy was born in Ste. Anne, Man. on December 4, 1974. He was a fun loving young boy and brought much joy to his family. He was always a small boy when he was young, and started falling down frequently. At first, we thought that he had a coordination problem. At age seven, randy was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. This didn’t mean much to us at this time because we were ignorant to what this was. Randy found things frustrating at first but soon resigned himself to life that was to go through constant changes.Fortunately, about seven months before Randy was diagnosed, Christ became an integral part of our family. Saturday, November 7, 1992 at his residence, Peter H Doerksen, age 70 years, beloved husband of Violet, Steinbach, passed away.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2pm at the Chortitzer Mennonite Church, 479 Hanover St., Steinbach with Pastors Richard Martens and Cornelius G. Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach. Viewing will take place at the chapel Tuesday between 7 and 8 pm and at the church prior to the service.

Annie Wieler Kehler (1901-1991)

Peacefully Sunday morning, April 28, 1991 at the Steinbach Rest Haven, Annie Kehler, aged 90 years, of Steinbach passed away.

Born to Henry and Helen Wieler of Clearspring, March 23, 1901, Mother attended the Steinbach School. In 1920 Mother was baptized in the CMC Church and in 1921 married John S. Kehler. They shared 40 years of joys and sorrows. Mother and Dad lived in southeast Saskatchewan until 1930 at which time they moved to Steinbach where Dad started his own business in which Mother was a great help.
