Katharina Blatz Kehler (1900-1991)

Monday, October 21, 1991 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home, Steinbach, Mrs. Katherina Kehler, aged 91 years, of Steinbach.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 24, 2pm from the Chortitzer Mennonite Church in Steinbach with Rev. Bill Hildebrandt and Rev. Stan Kehler officiating. Interment will follow in the Steinbach Memorial Cemetery. Friends may pay their last respects at Loewen Funeral Chapel Wednesday from 7-8 pm, and at the church prior to the service. Mary Kehler Isaac (1925-1980)

Mrs. Mary Isaac was born to Peter S and Katharina Kehler on the 28^th day of November, 1925 in the Randolph district. She grew up and received her education in the Twin Creek School. She reached the age of 54 years, 7 months and 15 days.

On January 2, 1946 she joined in holy matrimony with Aaron Isaac. This union lasted 34 years, 6 months and 11 days, in which they shared the joys and sorrows of life.

Peter S. Kehler (1896-1968)

Peter S. Kehler: entrepreneur and minister; born 1 January 1896 in Ebenfeld, Manitoba, to Jacob K. and Elisabeth H. (Schultz) Kehler, as the eighth of 14 children in the family.

On 12 August 1923, he married Katharina Blatz (1900-1991) in Eigengrund (later called Hanover), Manitoba. The couple had 12 children, one of whom died young. Peter died on 11 February 1968 in Mitchell, Manitoba. Because the family was so large, he lived with an aunt and uncle from the age of four until he was ten years old.
