Recipe: Zumma Borscht

Ingredients
- 1 smoked ham bone or ham hock
- 2 – 3 cups beet leaves, slivered
- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/3 cup dill, chopped
- 4 – 6 potatoes, cubed
- 8 cups water
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
- Put the water and the ham in a large pot and bring to boil.
- Simmer for a few hours.
- Remove the bone.
- Add the vegetables and cook until tender.
- Add the meat back into the pot.
- Taste and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve with sour cream.
Where is the vinegar in the zumma borscht?It needs to be a little sour.
